Could they be more gorgeous?

FYI the online photo editing site Picnik is shutting down on April 19 but is offering premium editing for free until then.  So use it while you can!

And the daffodils look lovely today...

I love spring for lots of reasons (since we've had several very warm days I've now officially declared it spring).  One is flowers.  For sure my faves are raunculas, dahlias, and daffodils.  So in honor of my self pronounced begining of spring I brought home 3 bunches of daffys from Vons this week.  It is so amazing to see how simple green stalks, that could have easily been mistaken for green onions or even asparagus, can turn into these amazingly delicate, simply beautiful flowers.

Here's 2 views of my spring beauties...you may notice some differences between the two...same spot, same light, same camera...different lens! You've got to get yourself a 50mm fixed lens if you don't have one for your DSLR.  They aren't expensive and make a world of difference in your photos.   I promise you will love it as much as I do.

Pretty as a Picture

I've been wanting to get a canvas print for a while now.  I was originally thinking about getting one of the whole fam but I'm wondering if we'll ever take a good photo together in the next 5 years.  So, now I'm thinking maybe getting one of each of the girls individually.  Canvas People is running a Black Friday special for 1/2 off and free shipping.  What do you think of these?

The lens

Got this amazing lens as a suprise anniversary gift from Brett and just look what she can do....

I can get the aperture down to 1.8 with this baby (meaning the background can be totally blurred). Now I've got over 800 pics to sort though of our family tip to Tennessee. More to come....
